San Ysidro Ranch Wedding Part II

San Ysidro Ranch has to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I LOVE doing weddings at this Montecito haven. I had worked on several events there as a freelancer for another florist, but this wedding was my first under Oak & the Owl. Needless to say I was beyond excited, and poured all my time and energy into it. Being a winter wedding helped with that too. Same with the flowers. I think December is one of the best times for flowers. Peonies are available along with ranunculus, and all of my favorite special varietal tulips, to name a few.

The reception took place in the Wine Cellar which was the perfect cozy spot for this drizzling December day. The bride wanted her colors to be blues, golds, silver, and cream. We went with a paler blue La Tavola Linen for the outdoor cocktail tables along with their cream matelassé for the banquet tables. The flowers for the cocktail hour mimicked the ceremony and personal flowers – yellows paired with whites and creams. I decorated the outdoor fireplace using all the existing pots and had candles everywhere, including hanging glass lanterns from the trees. Inside the cellar we went with cream linens for the tables with La Tavola’s Wedgewood blue napkins. The flowers inside were all yellow with black accents coming from the privet berries. For vessels and candles I used my antiqued and etched mercury glass collection. I think the pairing of colors and textures really worked for this rainy day wedding. It brightened it up, but still felt soft and bridal.

The bride did a wonderful job designing her Sofreh Aghd, and I love what Twine Events did with the lovely favor table. Desi Baytan captured everything so beautifully. They really do such an amazing job. I know every time Erica and I work with them, we’re going to come up with something incredible. This wedding sums up everything I want my business to represent. Beautiful design with an awesome team of vendors at the most stunning venues in the world, while have a blast working with such fun and kind people. So here’s to more and more of these events!
